In this time of constant entertainment, it’s easy to take memes for granted. They’re forever popping up on our feed or being collected into lists like this, and there’s so many of them we have forgotten that things used to be any different. Imagine for a moment, though, that they all got taken away one day. We would have such a massive gap in our lives, and too much time to know what to do with. More important than that, we’d spend so much more of our lives being unbelievably bored. It doesn’t bear thinking about, so we may as well forget about it the best way we know how: even more memes. As far as we know, they aren’t going to suddenly stop any time soon. If they do, we have a problem on our hands. However, let’s not dwell on that when we have all of this in front of us.
