TopherTok Takes Over: TikTok Can’t Get Enough of This Chaotic Southern Child Named Topher

When you name your child Christopher, you must make a critical decision. You have to choose whether you are going to resign him to a life of normalcy with the nickname “Chris” or if you’re going to make him a superstar with the nickname “Topher.” The choice you make could change the entire trajectory of your child’s life.

If you’ve been scrolling through TikTok recently, you’ve probably seen more memes than you can count starring a little boy named Topher. He rose to TikTok fame after a clip of him yelling, “Y’all already know who I am, my name’s Topher,” with a strong Southern accent went viral. This was not the first time Topher had made a splash on TikTok; His sister, Allyson Russell, started posting videos featuring him during the summer of 2021, starting with a video of Topher flipping the bird. Russell also posted a video of Topher taking the Sprite Challenge, where participants chug Sprite and try not to burp. That video garnered over 29.9 million views in nine months. Perhaps, this is what Topher was referring to when he said, “Y’all already know who I am.”

With his recent viral success, Topher’s TikTok fame has risen to a ubiquitous level, far beyond what he achieved two summers ago. You can scroll down your For You Page without seeing Topher fancams, Topher compilation videos, and Topher edits. At this point, there is no way to defeat Topher, so you might as well join him.
