The Neighbourhood Lantern Walk Was Straight Out of a Storybook
Fifty homemade lanterns, one cold evening, and a street that glowed like a fairy tale.
The Laughing Otter

What started as one family making jar lanterns turned into a whole-street tradition. On the first truly cold evening of autumn, fifty neighbours gathered with homemade lanterns — jars, paper bags, one magnificent papier-mâché otter — and walked the block together while kids sang and someone's dad brought thermoses of hot chocolate. No tickets, no organisers, no fuss. Just light, laughter, and the shared agreement that winter is easier when you walk into it together, glowing.
What tiny tradition could your street start this year?
