Otters Keep Their Favourite Rocks in Little Pockets
Yes, really. Sea otters have skin pouches where they store a beloved rock. We cannot cope.

Sea otters use rocks as tools to crack open shellfish — but here is the part that got us: many otters have one specific rock they like best, and they carry it around in a loose pouch of skin under their forearm. Researchers have watched otters retrieve, inspect, and carefully re-pocket their favourite rock like someone checking their phone is still there. Some keep the same rock for years. Somewhere in the ocean right now, an otter is holding hands with its best friend so they do not drift apart, with a favourite rock safely stowed. If that does not improve your day, nothing will.
