Otters hold hands so they do not drift apart
Sea otters link paws while they sleep. We took notes.
The Laughing Otter

Sea otters sleep floating on their backs, and they hold paws so the current does not pull them apart overnight. Sometimes they wrap themselves in kelp for extra insurance.
We named this place after them for a reason. Drifting apart is the easy default; staying connected takes a small deliberate act. Usually a message. Usually one you have been meaning to send for weeks.
