One family runs a daily dad-joke championship at the breakfast table.
The Laughing Otter
One family has a rule: whoever tells the worst joke before school gets to pick the radio station. The current champion is seven years old and her entry was, "Why did the otter cross the road? Because it was the salmon's idea."
It is not good. That is the point. Bad jokes are the cheapest way we know to start a day laughing, and laughing is the whole reason this place exists.
