A neighbourhood cat holds court at a bay window daily. Her owners added a guest book.

Princess, a corpulent tabby, has sat in the same front window every day for six years, supervising the street. So many locals stop to greet her that her owners taped a small notebook to the window ledge: "Princess's Visitors — please sign in." It has filled three volumes. Entries include "brought her a leaf, she was unimpressed," "tough day, needed this," and one from a local nurse who writes "she got me through night-shift season." Princess remains professionally aloof about the whole operation.
