Nobody has claimed responsibility, though several residents report seeing two women with a large tote bag moving "with suspicious purpose." Rather than remove them, the council posted a photo with the caption: "Bench couture. We respect it." The knitters responded by adding a seventh bench — the one outside the council offices.
